Looking for a great Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel? These 7 hotels are excellent options close to Disneyland!
Disneyland is a wondrous and magical place, albeit much smaller than its Florida sister park, Walt Disney World. There are only 3 actual Disneyland Resort Hotels, BUT there are many amazing hotels within walking distance of Disneyland! I have stayed at Disneyland Resort Hotels and they are lovely, but I also have enjoyed many a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel. In this post, I’m going to share 7 of these that I have personal experience with, as well as their pros and cons. And I’ll share a bonus option at the end!

7 Awesome Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels
Before we begin you may be wondering….
What is a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel?
Disneyland has chosen 51 neighboring hotels that they refer to as Good Neighbor Hotels. All of these hotels are AAA-approved and Disney-approved for standards for comfort, quality, location, and service. They can vary from economy to moderate to superior, based on their style of accommodation.
Accommodations can vary from a standard hotel room to a moderate (more amenities) room or a superior resort which has more services and amenities, and these resorts often offer villas or suites. Some of the Disneyland Good neighbor hotels also offer transportation to the parks and a guest services desk that can help you plan your Disneyland visit and purchase tickets.
I’m ranking these in order of least expensive to most expensive as best I can, but prices are quite variable for all hotels. Room types are going to be a key difference in pricing ranges also. In addition, I will list their contact info, and the distance they are from Disneyland. Every option below has a pool, most have hot tubs, and most have at least a small fitness center (except when noted below).
Hotel Lulu
1850 S Harbor Boulevard
Anaheim, California 92802 United States
(657) 688-5858
Distance: 0.5 miles
Hotel Lulu is a Best Western Boutique style hotel, just 2 blocks from Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. I found this hotel to be lovely, with a welcoming staff and fun decor. It didn’t hurt that they also welcomed me with a free signature cocktail too and fresh cookies for the kids!
Pros
- Free snacks and cocktails at check-in (and happy hour daily)
- Friendly staff
- Short walk to Disneyland (they say it’s 7 minutes but it was more like 5 for us)
- Onsite coffee bar and restaurant
- Fun Disney and California-themed decor
- Comfy beds and pillows
- Great Prices!
Cons
- Parking fee (but honestly almost of all area hotels have one)
- No free breakfast
Clementine Hotel and Suites Anaheim
1700 S. Clementine StAnaheim, California 92802(714) 533-3555Distance: 0.7 milesThe Clementine has a spacious, neighborhood kind of feel. It’s a bit farther out but you really get a lot of bang for your buck if you stay in a suite! Though I haven’t stayed in a regular studio suite here, those are affordable for the amount of space you get (all of the suites have full kitchens). There’s also a pool, sports court, and a playground- among the other amenities listed below. And we could see the fireworks from there also!
Pros
- The free (well they include it as part of your resort fee) breakfast is back as of September 1st 2023 (they didn’t have this when we were there last year)!
- Their parking is complimentary- 1 car if you stay in a studio or 1 bedroom suite, and 2 cars if you stay in a larger suite.
- Spacious suites (including full kitchens) at reasonable prices given the amount of space and the above amenities.
- BBQ pit and patio available for guest use
- A relaxed and welcoming setting
- Friendly staff
Cons
- A bit farther than the other options here. It’s still walkable but it would take you maybe 15-20 minutes or more depending on your pace and they don’t offer transportation.
- Their resort fee is a bit high and is currently set at $35.17 per night. This is higher than most others reviewed here.
Anaheim Portofino Inn and Suites
1831 South Harbor Blvd
Anaheim, CA 92802
(714)782-7600
Distance: .7 miles
This hotel has some great family suites, and they are a short-ish (10-14 minutes) and easy walk over to Disneyland. It’s great for families with younger kids because they have a king-sized bed in a separate room from the bunk beds (though it is a glass door that separates them). They also offer many amenities as listed below.
Pros
- Suites that can fit a family of 6
- Game room
- Shuttle service, they are on the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) line, and the shuttle stops right in front of the hotel.
- They offer great advanced booking savings (20%) if you stay 3 or more nights on their already reasonable prices. This must be done directly through their website.
- Free parking…with a catch
Cons
- Here’s the catch- the resort fee, which covers the parking and wifi, is $20. As you can see above resort fees are the norm now but they are very frustrating.
Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel
1380 South Harbor Blvd
Anaheim, California 92802
(800) 422-4228
Distance: 0.6 milesIf you have heard of the Pirate Pool Hotel near Disneyland or the HOJO, then this is you’ve heard of this hotel (does anyone else remember when there used to be Howard Johnson’s all across the country?). This hotel is so fun for little ones (water slides with a pirate theme, say no more..) and really kids of all ages. They also have nicely kept grounds (7 acres in fact) and host their own well-stocked market and souvenir shop!
Pros
- Pirate-themed playground with slides, spray fountains, drench bucket
- On-site merch and food market
- Great fireworks view
- Nicely landscaped grounds
- Easy walk to Disneyland
Cons
- If you aren’t traveling with young kids then this might not be the place for you as it is very popular with the little ones, which can bring some screaming and chaos
- Some rooms overlook the highway, but to give them credit, they did soundproof well
- Though they have a market they don’t have onsite dining or a bar, there are restaurants very close by. There is no free breakfast
- No fitness center
SpringhillSuites at Anaheim Resort/Convention Area
1801 S. Harbor Blvd
Anaheim, CA 92802
714-533-2101
Distance: 0.7 miles
We loved this hotel! It was a comfortable room for all 5 of us (and we didn’t even have a suite) and it was pretty close to Disneyland. They also have great quick food options nearby so you can grab food on your way to the parks, and a CVS underneath the hotel (a wonderful place to pick up sunscreen, a poncho for last-minute storms, and even Disney merch for much cheaper). My kids loved watching the fireworks from the rooftop pool!
Pros
- CVS just below the hotel
- Rooftop pool with great fireworks viewing
- Marriott quality accommodations
- Nice Fitness center
- Free Breakfast
Cons
- Though it’s close to Disneyland and the walk wasn’t bad you do have to cross some busy streets
- Can get expensive during busy times of the year
- No free parking
Hyatt House at Anaheim Resort Convention Area
1801 S. Harbor BlvdAnaheim, California 92802(714) 533-2101Distance: 0.7 milesI literally have never had a bad stay in a Hyatt House. They are consistently great places to stay, and the Anaheim Resort/Convention Center Hyatt House is no exception. They offer free breakfast and all of the regular Hyatt perks like a great pool, a nice lounge, and friendly staff. This location also has an extended stay hotel suite option with fully equipped kitchens in those suites.
Pros
- Walgreens just below the hotel- again great for snacks, merch, sunscreen, forgotten toiletries, etc
- Free Breakfast
- Game room/lounge
- Hyatt-level amenities and accommodations
- Outdoor covered patio next to the outdoor pool
Cons
- Pricey, particularly during busy seasons
- You have to cross some busy streets but the walk is not bad overall
- No free parking
Best Western Plus Park Place Inn- Mini-Suites
1544 S. Harbor Blvd
Anaheim, CA 92802
(714) 776-4800
Distance: 0.3 mile
I also have always had good stays at Best Western Plus hotels and this one is very close to the park and has free breakfast! They also have a small souvenir shop that stocks some snacks that you can grab and go on the way to the parks. Their free breakfast has some healthy options like fruit and protein so you can fuel a long day, but it’s so close you can easily come back to this hotel for a mid-day nap.
Book now using this banner below and get the discount.
Pros
- Very close to Disneyland, super easy walk
- Free Breakfast, and it’s a real breakfast!
- Best Western plus quality
- Mini-Suites
Cons
- Pricey for a moderate hotel, but just as with all of the above options, rates can vary greatly from season to season
- No free parking
Honorable mention
Though not an official Disneyland Good Neighbor hotel (which means it just hasn’t gone through the hoops to be put on the Disneyland site), I highly recommend the Hotel Indigo Anaheim.
Hotel Indigo Anaheim
435 W Katella Ave
Anaheim, CA 92802
(714)772-7755
Distance: 0.7 miles
This hotel was a great option for me on a recent work-related trip. Though it is family-friendly, it definitely is a great option for an adult-only trip. Modern decor, a great restaurant and bar, and a nice location all come together here. Hotel Indigo Anaheim is part of a small boutique chain of hotels that are part of the IHG Hotel and Resorts chain.
Pros
- Modern decor
- No resort fee!!!
- Great restaurant
- Free Parking
- Easy walk to Disneyland, though a little bit farther away than some listed above
Cons
- No free breakfast
- The rooms are a bit small but very light and bright
How do these options compare to a Disneyland resort hotel?
The magic of a Disney trip is real and the resort hotels can be a very big part of that. And Disneyland is no exception!
The O.G.- the Disneyland Hotel
The Disneyland Hotel offers themed rooms with a touch of magic, including fireworks on the headboard complete with the Tinkerbell magical kiss goodnight. And there is so much history there- Walt Disney himself was part of the opening of this hotel. The monorail pool is awesome, and Trader Sam’s is legendary (a classic tiki bar that has an outdoor patio also, and serves some crazy and fun drinks)! Staying at the Disneyland Hotel, as you would expect, puts you just steps away from Disneyland and you can catch the monorail very easily.
The Grand Californian
The Grand Californian is a beautiful, lodge-themed resort that is reminiscent of classic National Park lodges and is definitively grand! The lobby is enormous and gorgeous, the restaurant options include a wonderful bar and lounge, a pool bar, and a sit down restaurant. And you have your own private entrance to Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney (and still very close to Disneyland).
Pixar Place
The Paradise Pier Hotel is their most affordable option (but would not be considered affordable compared to the above prices) and has been rethemed to Pixar Place, which, you guessed it, has a Pixar theme. This hotel hasn’t officially reopened as of the writing of this post but it looks so fun, and I look forward to staying there next year!
The benefits of all three of the above include not only the Disney magic, but also early entry into either Disney California Adventure or Disneyland (depending on the day) by 30 minutes every morning, and the wonderful Disney Cast Member guest service.
In conclusion, you can’t go wrong with choosing one of these Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels or staying onsite instead. It’s all a personal decision, based on your preferences and your budget. Hopefully, this post helped answer some of your questions and made that decision easier!
