Wondering if DVC Owners Locker is worth it or wanting to learn more about the ultimate bag space saving idea? Check out five reasons you may want to use Owner’s Locker for your next Disney trip!
If you’re a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member, chances are you’ve mastered the art of packing, unpacking, and repacking for multiple Walt Disney World trips each year. But let’s be honest — it can still feel overwhelming, and it’s easy to forget or not have room for the essentials at your home away from home. The sunscreen, ponchos, extra sneakers, portable fans, coffee makers, or even that perfect bottle of wine you love to drink on your balcony at Bay Lake Tower… they all have to be hauled back and forth, or purchased at Disney prices- over and over again.
That’s where Owner’s Locker comes in — the unsung hero of Disney planning. This purple, heavy-duty storage container stays in Orlando waiting for you between trips, making each DVC vacation easier, lighter, and surprisingly more affordable. After years of watching fellow DVC members rave about this service, I finally dug in — and now I can confidently say it’s one of my absolute favorite packing hacks!
Here are the five biggest reasons Owner’s Locker makes Disney trips magical (and stress-free).
1. Convenience: Your DVC Stay Just Got Easier
Imagine checking into your DVC villa and having a big purple box waiting with everything you need for your stay. No more stressing over what will fit into your carry-on, or if you have the sunscreen, or even having the luxury of having your favorite time at home items like your coffee bean grinder (and your coffee beans) or other such luxuries!
In my experience, Owner’s Locker works seamlessly with Bell Services. Your locker gets delivered straight to your resort before you even arrive, and when your trip ends, it gets whisked away again until your next visit.
Inside, you can stash so many practical and repeatable items like:
-
Kitchen gadgets (hello, Mickey waffle maker or French press)
-
Full-sized shampoo and conditioner
-
Laundry supplies like dryer sheets and fabric softener
- Irons, Wrinkle Releaser Sprays, or Clothing Steamers
-
First-aid kits, extra sneakers, or even your MagicBands so you don’t lose them between trips (I do this a lot); or even humidifiers or nebulizers if you have someone in your family who needs them
-
Seasonal items like Halloween party costumes, seasonal accessories, or Christmas lights for your villa balcony
Because the lockers are roomy (22″ x 20″ x 13″), you’ll free up so much suitcase space for clothes and — let’s be real — that Disney merch you just can’t live without. It’s the closest thing to having a second home closet in Orlando.
And all you runners at RunDisney- Owner’s Locker for DVC villas can be a game changer! Think your favorite muscle massage tool, bath salts, muscle cream, foam roller- and so much more! Check out this blog to learn more about packing for runDisney!
Real-Life Example: One DVC family I know keeps their entire “holiday season” in a locker — Halloween costumes, Christmas PJs, even string lights for their DVC balcony. Each fall and winter, everything is ready and waiting, no packing stress required. I haven’t gone this far yet, as I have only used this service once, but I am excited to use it more and more every year!
2. Flexible DVC Owners Locker Membership Plans
Not every DVC member vacations the same way (and to learn more about Disney Vacation Club check out my DVC 101 post– it details all you need to know). Some visit once a year, others come down every few months for short trips, and some love hopping between multiple resorts on split stays (depending on the year myself and my family have checked off some or all of these boxes). Owner’s Locker has created different plans and here they are:
Membership Plans
-
Value Plan – $10.50/month
-
Storage in a climate-controlled warehouse
-
Round trip visits are $30 each for your first locker and $15 for each additional locker
-
-
Moderate Plan – $12.50/month
-
Storage in a climate-controlled warehouse
-
One FREE round trip visit per year
-
Additional visits: $30 each for the first locker, $15 each for additional lockers
-
-
Deluxe Plan – $22.50/month
-
Storage in a climate-controlled warehouse
-
Unlimited FREE round trip visits per year
-
Each plan starts with a one-time membership fee of $75, and DVC members receive a special discount when signing up.
So, they have a variety of plans, and you aren’t stuck in an annual plan if you instead choose to pay monthly.
Pro Tip: If you tend to book split stays or do this often — say a few nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge followed by a week at Polynesian Villas — the Deluxe Plan might be worth it for you. Split stays are an excellent way to check out different Deluxe Resorts, particularly if you are new to Disney Vacation Club. Almost every trip I take involves a split stay as it makes it easier to book your vacations later and not plan so far ahead.
3. Durability & Protection for Breakable Items
The last thing you want is to store your favorite coffee maker or those hard-to-find Disney holiday mugs in something flimsy. Owner’s Locker lockers are very durable and are tightly sealed.
-
Each locker is industrial-strength, and water-tight
-
They come with a lifetime warranty.
-
Between visits, lockers are stored in a climate-controlled warehouse in Orlando (so chocolate won’t melt – yay, S’mores!), and Wine will be stored at a safe temperature to keep it tasting good); this is also great if you are storing medications, vitamins, or medical equipement.
- They even have organizers trays for your stuff and dividers- more ideas to keep the stuff safe!
That means Florida humidity won’t damage your things, and delicate items (like holiday decorations, special-effects makeup for a Halloween party, or your favorite pillow) will be in good shape when you arrive.
Comparison:
-
Storing in your car trunk or even checked luggage: items risk melting, molding, or breaking.
-
Shipping boxes: pricey, unreliable, and no climate control.
-
Owner’s Locker: designed specifically to withstand Orlando heat and humidity, with Disney resort delivery built in.
4. DVC Owner’s Locker can potentially save you money
Yes, there’s an upfront membership cost. But here’s where the magic happens: Owner’s Locker often pays for itself in just 2–3 trips.
Think about what you’d normally spend on:
-
Checked bag fees ($30–$60 per bag or more if you fly Frontier like us, per trip). I was so excited to just roll up to the airport on my last trip with an easy to carry small backpack that met even Frontier’s personal item rules!
-
Replacing forgotten basics like sunscreen, shampoo, or detergent; or even first aid options and handy medicines to have on vacation like PeptoBismol, anti-nausea meds (Cosmic Rewind here you come), bandaids, aloe vera gel- and these are just a few things- I could go on! Also neck fans and cooling towels for the hot months!
-
Grocery runs for items you already bought last time
-
The time you lose shopping instead of enjoying the parks
Here’s a simple breakdown:
Cost-Savings Scenarios
Scenario | Typical Cost per Year | With Owner’s Locker | Savings |
---|---|---|---|
3 trips/year, 1 checked bag each way ($60 per trip) | $180 | $150 (Moderate Plan) | $30 saved + more luggage space |
2 trips/year + replacing $50 worth of items each time | $200 | $126 (Value Plan) | $74 saved annually |
4 trips/year, 2 checked bags each way ($480 per year) | $480 | $270 (Deluxe Plan) | $210 saved annually |
And that’s not even factoring in the “hidden” savings: stress, time, and fewer Target runs when you land- as well as reassurance you will have extra first aid items, cooling items, and other comfort items.
5. Making Disney Feel More Like Home
DVC is about having a “home” at Disney, and the locker really adds to that, in my opinion. I plan to keep the little things that make trips feel familiar (again I’m new at this locker thing but I have gathered feedback from other DVC friends — our favorite medicines and even some vitamins and wellness items as well as first aid items, an extra pillow, sunscreen that doesn’t irritate my skin, and definitely proper sunburn care).
It’s comforting, and it makes each trip feel less like packing for a vacation and more like coming home.
The Wrap Up
As a Disney Vacation Club member, your points are precious. Every moment you save stressing less about packing and spending less on baggage fees is more time enjoying the magic.
Whether it’s your favorite coffee waiting in your villa kitchen, costumes ready for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, or simply knowing you don’t have to lug extra healthcare items, or small applicances around, Owner’s Locker gives you the freedom to travel lighter and smarter.
DVC Owner’s Locker is by no means a necessity- it’s a wonderful luxury and can even be a money saver for frequent DVC stays. If it fits in your budget it’s definitely something to make your trip easier and to make it feel more like home!
