The dessert party takes place at Tomorrowland Terrace, where guests are treated to an assortment of sweet delights, including cakes, cookies, pastries, cheese, crackers, and other savory options. In addition to the mouthwatering desserts, guests also have access to unlimited non-alcoholic beverages and a selection of beer and wine for those 21 and over. The highlight of the party is the special viewing area for fireworks, allowing guests to enjoy a prime spot for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party special fireworks show. While the dessert party is an additional cost on top of the regular party ticket price, some people may find it worth the cost in order to have the treats AND the seats!
2. What are the included desserts and treats?
At Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dessert Party, known this year as Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party, guests can expect a wide variety of treats. The desserts offered at this exclusive event include:
- Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
- “Minnie” French Silk Pies
- Candy Cane Tarts
- Holiday themed cookies
- Ooey Goey Toffee Cake
- Holiday cupcakes
- Chocolate Mousse
- Ice cream varieties
So, if you have a penchant for all things sweet and you or someone in your party would prefer to have reserved seating for the fireworks, then Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dessert Party is definitely worth considering if it’s within your budget (but read on for my take on this party).
3. Are there any additional food and beverage options?
In addition to the yummy desserts, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dessert Party also offers some non-dessert food options to cater to different preferences. While the focus of the event is on sweet treats, guests can also enjoy savory snacks like cheese and crackers and a selection of fruits. These options provide a nice balance for those who may want a break from all the sugary stuff. As for beverages, unlimited non-alcoholic drinks are included in the dessert party package.
In summary, non-dessert options include:
- A selection of cheeses and fruits
- Refreshing beverages like soda, juice, coffee, and hot chocolate, and includes an assortment of beer and wine for Guests ages 21 and over with a valid form of identification.
So whether you’re in the mood for something savory or need a refreshing drink to complement your sweet treats, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dessert Party has got you covered with its additional food and beverage options.
4. What is the seating arrangement and atmosphere like?
The seating arrangement at MVMCP Dessert Party is a combination of communal tables and individual seating. There are also some festive touches as Tomorrowland Terrace is adorned with festive decorations like twinkling lights, garlands, and holiday-themed props.
Tomorrowland Terrace Table option
There are reserved tables for those who have the Tomorrowland Terrace dining view/table option. The dining view package is more expensive but can be good for those who don’t want to be crowded into the garden area of the Castle hub and would like a more relaxed atmosphere.
Garden View Dessert Party option
The general seating inside in Tomorrowland Terrace is for those with the Garden view/Hub grass tickets. The Garden view seating from the hub grass is not perfect, as you do often have an obscured view of the fireworks. But for some, it’s better than spending an hour or more saving a seat for the fireworks.
5. What is the price?
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace
Adult $114.00/ Child $69.00
Holiday Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing (of note as of this writing Disney only has the above option listed on their website so it’s possible they will only be offering the Tomorrowland Terrace seating)
Adult $99.00/ Child $59.00
6. What dates is the dessert party offered and when should you check in?
2023 Event Dates
- November 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 21, 22, 26, 28 and 30
- December 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 22
Check-in
You should check in 45-60 minutes before the fireworks start for the reserved seating and as soon as 90 minutes before the Garden viewing.
7. Now the big question…is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party worth it?
Let’s start out by saying…everyone travels differently and has different needs and preferences. That being said, I’m not the biggest fan of the dessert parties at the special events. I do, however, like them on regular fireworks nights.
The Time factor
I say this because you already pay quite a bit to be at this event. There is so much to do that you can’t do it all.
Add to that an hour or more of that time devoted to a dessert party. This eats into a great chunk of your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party time!
The View
In addition, the viewing from either spot is not ideal for all when it comes to views.
The Seating
If you or someone in your party would really benefit from a more relaxed fireworks experience, then it’s a good option.
For example, if someone has panic or anxiety related to crowds, having their own table is a great relief. Or if they are unable to sit on the ground and wait for an extended period of time for the fireworks show.
In these situations, the seating comes in very handy.
The Complimentary Cookies and Drinks
Another point is that the Christmas Party at Walt Disney World includes cookies as part of your admission and specialty beverages like Egg Nog, Apple Cider, and Hot Cocoa.
Additionally, there are specialty treats you can purchase that won’t be found as part of the dessert party. So, if you pay extra and fill up on those treats you may not have room for the complimentary treats.
Considering all of this, I don’t feel like the Dessert Party at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is worth it for my family, but it could be for yours.
The Wrap Up
In conclusion, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dessert Party offers a unique and festive experience for guests visiting Walt Disney World during the Christmas Party event at Walt Disney World. It can be a lovely addition to your vacation with a variety of delicious desserts and treats and fireworks viewing seating.
However, it is expensive and takes quite a bit of time out of your already busy night.
Ultimately, the decision of whether it’s worth it ultimately depends on your individual preferences and budget.
